Transducer Placement?

I have a 2002 21cc and was curious were you place your transom mounted ff for best operation at hi speed on theses hulls? Closer to the motor or up on the transom "stripe" or step.
I am installing a furuno fcv 620. Thanks for your help ....Ed

Thank you very much for the welcome and quick reply. Are you getting good readings up on plane? Looks like you have the wedge installed also?
Thanks again...Ed

You have to be sure to switch between cruising and fishing modes but it does a great job.

My transducers are located same as Randy's but when on plane splash water straight up on both sides of the motor.

Suggestions?

Slightly different

Hi Eoa,

I mounted my transducer on the Port side instead of Starboard. This was due to not having a flat surface to mount on and I was concerned about divers hitting the transducer while on the ladder.

Attached is a photo.

I have not had a problem with this mounting option. Most people mount the transducer on the Starboard side because of the way the prop turns and the possibility of turbulence.
