Cool scupper problem

I have had a problem with water coming in through the scuppers. I had an idea to put a piece of pvc and glue it . The reason is plugs won't fit the whole and the passage isn't solid between the inside and outside of the boat. I called atriumph and told them my idea and was told the pvc pipe that would only be about four inches could cause stress and could void my warenty. I made up my mind today that i am going to sell the boat. If it is the "toughest boat" a pvc pipe shouldn't be a problem.

If it was done right I wouldn't have to try to fix it. The hole is off size so you can't use a standard size plug and it's not solid so an expanding plug won't work. The livewell was another bad design. The drain is in the side so it will always have an inch or two of water in it . I think because my boat is a 02 and that is the year most crack happened Triumph could use it for an excuse to void my warenty.

Dave4104, I inquired about your situation with Triumph and they indicated that they understood that you wanted to put a larger piece of PVC than the scupper hole would allow, which might pose a problem. They indicated that a smaller piece of PVC with RULE around it would not be a problem. If you will send me your phone number via PM (Private Message) I'll be glad to forward to Bryant at Triumph so he can call you about this.

You are very welcome Dave. Glad they were able to work it out for you. Be sure to post some pictures of your scupper setup when you get it finished. It might benefit someone else.

It was good talking to you and hearing about the fishing on your side of the country. If you're ever over this way let us know and we'll line up a fishing opportunity. Glad you're a part of the site.
