All I can say is that I have a 2005 210CC and it is white, not the gray of the older models. We love our 210, but while we like the color, it was not the color that sold us on this technology.

Model year 2004 is when "I" noticed the biggest difference in the hull color

According to the Merritt Marine website, looking at welding rod, 2002 and earlier are white with speckle. 2003 and after are white.

Think they use to add the spleckles to decrease "static" electricity in cold weather.

Here is the official word from the factory on "black specs":

The black specs were small graphite specs and they were not UV inhibitors or anything to do with structure or chemistry of the material. They were strictly for cosmetic purposes.

We changed over from Speckled to all white in the 2003 model year.

Following that logic, a whiter boat should catch more Whitefish....I haven't caught any since I bought my boat...what am I doing wrong!!
