Question Keel Guard

Has anyone installed one of these on a Triumph?
I have a 150CC and I pulled it up on the concrete ramp to load my dogs. I noticed when I later retieved the boat the keel appeared to have been scraped. There was little flakes of what appeared to be flaking paint hanging down from the keel where it had scraped the concrete, I see where Overtons sells Keel Guards apparently for this purpose to protect the Keel for $129 for 5'. I beach the boat often at the fresh water lake I go to,the dogs and I love to beach and explore.

May I please suggest you use the "Search" feature. Try words like "beach" and "keel". My guess is you will find many postings on this subject.

My 2 cents? Relax and enjoy. Be glad you are not doing this with a fiberglass boat, after all, your boat is almost like a solid "keel guard".

I had a bunch of small "flakes" on the keel of my boat. I bought a $30 plastic welder and the flakes almost instantly melt back to where they came from.

just my $.02

KeelGuard doest work on Roplene

I E-Mailed Keelguard to see if there product could be used on a Triumph and they replied as follows:
"Roplene is a very thick hull style and is advertised as the worlds toughest hull. Unfortunately, the KeelGuard will not get a permanent bond to this material."

To quote a famoes line "That's funny no matter who you are" Shoot, you drag concrete across concrete, and it will have some rough spots on it also...

Just be thankful it is not a "glass" hull boat

Thanks for your input. My thought for getting a Keel guard was just to make sure my tough little boat was properly protected.
