2" Trailer Ball for 170s??

Howdy,

I'm watching 170s popping up for sale, and want to be ready to jump on the "right one" when I see it (well equipped, and not TOO far from southeast Georgia). Do the 170s use a two-inch hitch ball??

Thanks in advance, I can't respond in here...

Steve,

My EZ-loader trailer for my 170CC takes a 2" ball...I'm sure most do. Shoot, of all the things you need to buy for a boat, I think the ball is the cheapest of them all. You'll have time to buy the right one long before you need to hitch it up.

Good luck with your search for the perfect boat...the 170 is a great place to start.

Almost all trailers for boats up to 3500 GTW will require 2" balls. However, you don't need a 2" receiver in order to have a 2" ball. I have a 1.25" receiver with a 2" ball on my Outback, rated 3-3.5k lbs.

Smile Works Great

My EZ loader trailer for the 170CC uses a 2" ball. You may want to spend a few more bucks and purchase stainless steel.
