2008 170 cc livewell Seacock

Just purchased a new 2008 170 CC and have a question...as much as I tried to read the manual (which, BTW is quite generic and void of any usefull pics), I cannot for the life of me find the seacock/valve/or whatever it is to close off water intrusion into the live baitwell...the baitwell makes, for me, a better storage area then a baitwell, and I can't find the darn thing.

Thanks...great forum guys.

Lightbulb I had the same problem...

Hi SJ,

Congrats on the new boat!

If you open the access plate on the motor well and look down, on the starboard side of the transom knee, you will see the pump. The seacock is right below the pump, but unless you have REALLY skinny arms, you will not reach the lever.

I made a "J" hook on the end of a coat hanger and using a mirror was able to find the hole on the end of the lever. I inserted the hanger and pulled up. I was able to move the handle about 3/4 way into the vertical position and my son, with skinny arms, was able to move the handle the rest of the way. Vertical is open.

To keep water from entering the bait well, close off the outlet in the bait well. Just screw in the knob.

I've noticed that if the boat is bow down in the water, while drifting, sometimes the bait well will loose prime and will not pump. Keep that in mind.
