Smile I'll Try to Help...

Hi Mark,

I don't think there are too many 23.5 users yet, however, I believe all the Triumphs handle the same.

My boat, at slow speed, will handle 2 to 4 footers. Too fast and everything will rattle loose. I stay dry except when wind is a factor; then I have spray to deal with. The boat seems to float over waves rather easily instead of diving into them.

For motor power, I live by the mantra, go with the max the hull will handle. Why? Because when the boat is loaded down with gear and people, that is when you need the extra ponies. As I've stated before, dealers offer boats with smaller motors to sell the package at reduced prices. There is nothing devious about that, but, I've noticed many members wishing they had a few more horses pushing the boat.

I went with the maximum available for my boat even though the dealer was pushing 60 HP 4 strokes. I am quite happy with my boat and motor.

Find a dealer and take a boat for a test drive. Bring the entire family, load down the boat and see what it does.

Hope this helps.

Hey Mark, I have owned a 235 since 3/08,prior to that a 210 from 3/03 that was traded in with 3000+hrs on yamaha f115,they never fail. My 235 has yamaha F250 with as of Sat. has a 215 hrs on it. Like other owners, she hole shotted and ran port side down list with no trim tabs applied. Bow was very light feeling, and kicked up on swell contact at speed. My dealer has always told me to slow down, I never listen.....added 180lbs total to bow and starboard bow compartments distributed to even ride charateristics and bow hop. Really did the trick. In last 3 days of fishing outer waters, 171mi,164mi,and 192 mi ran, last day in very snotty conditions, two swell directions, 15 kts+ wind. Held me down to 20 t0 25 kts speed, very dry all things considered. In May, coming back from trip to Catalina Island 4 to 6ft swell,25+ktswind square onport side, 15 to20 kts speed , passenger rode in bow seat and help keep bow down . Only I got wet,,,soaked but am always prepared(slickers).Boat roll, eh little bit more than 210 but manageable. Both boats have been fish slayers for me. I drive them hard, put em away wet and would have any other boat , if they made a 27 footer, I trade up.

Nef,

I am thinking of trading my 210 up to a 235 and appreciate your info. I also appreciate your style. Drive it hard, put it away wet.

Any numbers on your fuel economy? Also, would you go with a 300 if you had it to do over again? Or what about an ETC (lighter?).

Thanks,

Ted

Flat conditiohs, 2.2, goes down from there. 4 stroke only, Yamaha only, would accept no other. Swear onall the future fish, My210 Triumph had only F115, 3000+ hrs mostly 5200 rpm,NEVER, I repeat NEVER even hiccupped. Many times at daybreak had much larger craft at 65+ miles out and wonder what the heck as I would go past searchin
