A. I think the design idea of the 120cc is really kinda dumb. Why would you want the large cylinder shape sides of an inflatable when the boat doesn't actually hold air, deflate or fold up? It's a rigid hull and big cylinder shapes are a waste of space. A foam filled standard V hull or skiff style would still be unsinkable. A standard shape hull is just much more practical. The whole reason inflatables have that shape is due to the needed design for rigidity when inflated and to be portable when deflated. I think the engineers at Logic (Triumph) missed a few classes in marine hull design.

Q. I am planning on purchasing a 191 FS for lake use; primarily fishing, tubing and some waterskiing. ... [Read More]

A. My 191 has 150HP and I was zooming across the bay yesterday at 48 knots wishing I had a 175HP...but if I did, then I'd want 200HP.

However 95% of the time I don't have the boat at WOT and I could get by with 90HP as it is just me on the boat.

The 191FS would be fine with 115HP, but it really depends on the passenger load.

If you apply the general rule that "more is better" then you'd be happier with a 150.
