Yamaha speedo not working

1yr old yamaha 150 4stroke with <100 hrs. Digital speedo shows a dash "-" or an incorrect value at all times. Might show 5knots when actually doing 45. Any ideas?

Take the speedo hose off the back of the gauge and blow thru the line with an air hose. Make sure air is coming out the pick up on the motor leg. I think that you have a stopped up line.

I had almost the same problem, except I was always doing 38mph even standing still. I know what happened, I Broke a submerged 4x4 going 38mph and a splinter clogged the pick-up port. Having to get 100 hour check anyway I let the tech find and fix.
