One has to take into consideration where that lid rests and move the spring inside some, but what a nice addition to the live well. I also have better access to the little tray in there which I use to pitch used crankbaits baits for a rinse off before returning them to my tackle bag. This way they do not get all rusty in the little Plano boxes

This is a great mod to do to any of your hatches that wont stay open by themself. I added one to the baitwell lid as you did here and also to the battery box lid and I loved the springs so much that I added one to my cooler under the leaning post.
