I'm confused. I thought that a transom saver went between the outboard's shaft and the trailer frame to reduce strain on the transom that is caused by the trailer bouncing which moves the boat which moves the motor up and down. It looks as though the support in the picture goes between the motor shaft and motor mount, which would reduce strain on the tilt hinge and tilt cylinder (most motors have a little flipper that does this) but would not change the oscillating forces on the transom.

You are right MikeL. But if the trim were to fail, it would prevent the engine from falling down and scraping on the ground.

I have had a "mywedge" for 6 mos now, and It is great!! reduces must of the shock associated with trailering your boat! Mine is under a 115 Yamaha on a 190 bay.
