note the s.s. bar being near the gas pickup fitting to prevent it from getting broken off when floor plate is hot and soft

Glad you posted the pics, one of my off season projects is to put a bigger hatch where the round inspection plate is. Do you just remove the screws and PRY the large hatch off ? Im aware of the significance of the differant length screws ....Is this large hatch made of starboard and can I use 5200 to seal the new hatch?? also how do I clean off the rule sealant that will probably on the hatch??? lots of questions, that why I ask the experts..thanks

THE HATCH IS WHAT TRIUMPH PUTS ON THE 190 REAR BILGE AREA ACCESS. GOT IT FROM A LOCAL DEALER. IT IS 13"WIDE AND YOU SHOULD ONLY GO NO FARTHER THAN 16" FROM THE TRANSOM SIDE TO THE EDGE DUE TO THE GAS TANK BEGINNING APRX 16" FROM TRANSOM. THAT GAVE ME 3" SOLID SPACE NEXT TO THE TRANSOM WALL TO WALK ON
WHEN I FIRST PUT THE LARGER HATCH ON ,IT MADE THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE IN ACCESSABILITY TO THE BILGE AREA WHILE ON THE WATER. HOWEVER, I HAVE SINCE JUST KEPT THE SCREWS OUT OF THE REAR COVER AND I JUST LIFT THE WHOLE THING OUT OF THE WAY WHEN I WANT TO WORK IN THAT AREA. I GOT A COUPLE OF EXTRA FISH BOX COVERS AND MADE TOE HOLD STRIPS WHERE THWE ROD STORAGE INSERT IS AND THE REAR COVER WILL FIT THERE JUST NICELY.
THANKS FOR KIND WORDS --BY NO MEANS EXPERT BUT RATHER POOR MAN TRYING TO BOAT IN A RICH MAN'S WORLD AND WILLING TO WORK ON MY BOAT MYSELF TO MAKE IT AS CLOSE TO WHAT THE NEW'MS HAS AS POSSIBLE.
REGARDS
ROBERT
